In Rhode Island, 107,000 adults are unemployed or underemployed.

The Genesis Project is a non-profit agency working to fight hunger in communities across Rhode Island. Partnering with private individuals, businesses, churches and other local community agencies, the Genesis Project operates in neighborhoods where the need is the greatest, working to put food in the hands of struggling families in cities such as Lincoln, Cumberland, Woonsocket and Central Falls.

 

Since opening the doors of our Manville Food Pantry in May of 2011, the Genesis Project has distributed over 120,000 pounds of food to families as far south as Charlestown, Rhode Island and as far north as Uxbridge, Massachusetts.In October, 2016, The Genesis Project expanded operations to include their Mobile Meals program which provides prepared meals to those in need.
